From Portland, Ore. The Dimes "The King Can Drink the Harbour Dry"

So the other day I got a Twitter follow out of nowhere from this band The Dimes out of Portland, Ore....
Their Twitter profile described them this way:
" Folk-pop band known for their gorgeous male/female harmonies. Fans of Iron and Wine and Fleetwood Mac will fall in love at 1st listen. "
I always take claims like this with a grain of salt. I have seen plenty of bold statements like this that don't hold water. This one does.
This album runs a tad to the mellow side of what I normally dig, but they have truly nailed both the 'pop' and 'folk' aspects simultaneously. I would also add that Simon and Garfunkel fans as well as Elliot Smith fans will probably like them too.
Simplicity in art is hard to design and harder to pull-off but they do. Kudos to the studio that captured this record. The songs, the arrangements, the harmonies...they are all on the mark and tastefully done.
I am uploading this to the station as soon as I download it.
Thanks for the tunes guys!
